Dear Friends:

I was born in Seattle, Washington, in the year 1910, of normal parents.  At birth I was found to be double-sexed, although both sides of my body were normal in every respect.  I was considered a girl until the thirteenth year of my life, at which time the left side of my body began to grow out of proportion to that of the right; the left developing into a muscular young man, while the right remained that of a delicate young lady.

Becoming alarmed, my parents consulted the family physician, who after a very careful examination pronounced me the most complete union of male and female in the one body it had been his privilege of examining.  It was his opinion that had not this unusual unisons occurred, the result would have been two children - a boy and a girl.

But nature sometimes works in a strange way. By the combination of both sexes in my body I have become what scientific men have called a Hermaphrodite.

I am often asked do I shave? yes, the entire face, but the beard is naturally heavy on the left side.

Am I married?  Yes.

Did I marry a man, or woman?   A man.

Do I have any children?   No, and strange to say I never will have any.

How do I dress?  I have a perfect right to dress as a man or woman.  I prefer to dress as a man because of convenience in traveling on exhibition.

Art there any other double-sexed attractions on exhibition?   Yes, six that are known.

I thank you.  ESTHER - LESTER.
