A Little Known Piece of Trivia

by Judy Tomaini Rock

A little known piece of trivia:

Frank Lentini was the one who named the Giant's Camp in Gibsonton, Florida.

He would drive up from his home in Miami to visit my Dad, who was also Italian. He ask my Dad, what he was going to call his trailer park and motel, Dad hadn't given it any thought.

Frank said why don't you call it the Giant's Camp, and the rest is history. He was a very nice man, and I remember he brought me a doll one time when he came.

The ladies loved him. And my parents always spoke very highly of him. He would come to the camp on occasion, just for a visit, or on his way out of town.
