Hey John, I came across these items and had
to get em'.
Apparently the document titled "SIDE SHOW
TRICKS" was sold as a pitch item for the
"Heaney Magic Show" which I believe was also
a magicians supply house.
I've scanned the items so you could get a
look at them. They came as a lot, and the
original owner had them clipped together.
The sideshow pamphlet is printed on
newsprint and is very fragile, I cannot open
it completely without ripping the paper.
Although I can tell you the the instructions
include; Snake Charming, Sword Swallowing,
Breaking Stone On Your Chest, Mind Reading,
Hypnosis, etc.
Any info would be great! Brett Loudermilk
Brett; Here's some information about
the image you shared with Sideshow World.
I have also include a few more from Heaney's
Magic Show/Company below.
J. H. Trudel was located in Lowell Mass.
He was a minor name in magic circles in the
early 20th century. Probably a magic buff
with a day job and a bit more enterprise
than the average amateur, he published a
magazine, "Escape Wizard," from April to
June 1916. Little is known about him beyond
that. His broad-sheet "Sideshow Tricks
Exposed" was sold then for 25¢, and included
ads for his services and for other
publications he produced. You can get
a copy of this catalog which is include in
