The largest free event in Coney Island would be the weekly
fireworks at the Coney Island Beach on July 20, 27, August 10,
17, 24, and September 7, 2007. It starts around 9:50pm and lasts
for about 10 minutes. Our tax money burning and bursting in the
air for public entertainment.

A poster. The last weekly fireworks at the Coney Island Beach is
scheduled for September 7, 2007, weather permitting. (August 26,
2007)

The banner on the fence by the entrance of the boardwalk of the
Astroland Amusement Park says it all. “Coney Island’s Astroland
Amusement Park. A Proud Sponsor of The Friday Night Fireworks”
(August 18, 2007)

The preparations of the weekly Friday night fireworks at the
Coney Island Beach. These equipments have not been changed for
over 100 years in Coney Island. Classic! No computer control
consoles, laser beam sculptures (as seen on September 11 n
Manhattan, annually) or plasma canons (as seen in Sifi TV shows)
here. (August 24, 2007)

The spectacular fireworks seen at the borderline of Astroland
Amusement Park and Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. (August
24, 2007)

Astroland Amusement Park at night. View from the boardwalk
entrance facing the Surf Avenue entrance. (August 25, 2007)

The Coney Island style fast food at the board walk. Greasey,
fatty, and yummy - the BEST! The historical Parachute Jump Tower
in the back. (August 25, 2007)

Many music sessions at temporary stages on the boardwalk have
been held throughout the summer time here. The free wild big
dance parties like this on the boardwalk is truly awesome.
Sadly, there are no major dance clubs in Coney Island yet,
unlike the Meat Packing District in Manhattan. (August 25, 2007)
