The poof positive of
a profitable business at an amusement park district’s food
stand. (September 3, 2007. Labor Day)

View from the end of
the amusement park district on my way home. Seen all the way in
the back is the Cyclone Roller Coaster. (September 3, 2007.
Labor Day)

A mounted police
officer in front of the Nathan’s. Last year, massive numbers of
new policemen/policewomen joined the force. I have never seen
this many police any previous year here in Coney Island. It is
like the French Quarter in New Orleans on Mardi Gras.
Tonight is a free
movie night at the amusement park district’s empty lot.
Tonight’s movie is “Dreamgirls” starting 8pm. Inflatable giant
screen is ready. Seen in the back is the historic Parachute Jump
Tower and Keyspan baseball stadium.

Free movie at the
empty lot. Seen on the right is Coney Island-Stillwell subway
station on the next block. The lighted tower is modeled after
the ornament of the Dreamland Tower.
