Contemporary Figurative Gallery

Since childhood I have sought the artists? way of life. I graduated in liberal arts from San Francisco State University and then proceeded to study art at various colleges. My recent work is a synthesis of my former more romantic, realist-impressionist style with expressionism, abstraction, and surrealism. I love to play with color, directional lines, space, and movement. I want the viewer to see and feel my awe or excitement or melancholy and "be there". Therefore, I see every reason to revel in the beautiful, the "ugly", and the illusive.

Presently, there are nineteen plus (and growing) paintings in a themed collection about circus, and sideshow performers. Some works are pure fun; others delve into the subtext of the underbelly of such a life and strive to provide universal metaphors. The subtext of sideshow is not surreal to me. It is my perception of self and others in certain realities. May we all live, laugh, and love in this journey of life.
