" Alli Amann's Sideshow Gallery"

Alli Amann was born and raised in the small town of Hamilton, NY.  She spent most of her childhood playing with snakes frogs and other creepy crawlies.  Grubby and gleeful this child grew, ever attracted to the odd.  At the age of 18, her small town environment no longer fit her ever-growing imagination and she needed more.  Hoping to find what she was looking for, she moved to Rochester, NY, and enrolled in R.I.T., where she majored in glass. Although very drawn to glass as a material, Alli realized that her extreme clumsiness and glass could never agree.  Once again is search of her true calling, Alli moved to Pittsburgh, PA, where she attended the Special Effects make-up program at the Douglas Education Center.  At last Alli had found what she was looking for... her twisted way of thinking thrived.  Her calling beckoned her and she came running with the materials and know-how in hand.  Currently, Alli is creating the sideshow inside her mind for all those with a love for the dark and macabre.

I have found Alli's sculptures and make-up artistry to be most amazing, a refreshing look into the world of the strange and unusual from a new young talent. Her look at an era gone by gives today's youth a glimpse at a time when the sideshow ruled the midway.
