LOCATION: 19 South 22nd Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19103

     HOURS: 10AM - 5PM, Monday through Sunday, every day of the year

except Thanksgiving  Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.

 

The world-famous Mütter Museum is run by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia which is a not-for-profit educational and cultural institution dedicated to examining the medical sciences and their place in society in order to enhance the understanding of medicine and the roles of physicians in history and in contemporary life.  The Museum's collections include over 20,000 objects, including fluid-preserved anatomical and pathological specimens, medical instruments, anatomical and pathological models, items of memorabilia of famous scientists and physicians, and medical illustrations.  It was founded in 1787, and named for Dr. Thomas Mutter.  The museum has one of the best collection of human medical exhibits in the world.
