We began our
Medicine Show less
than 2 years ago. It
started with our
local blacksmith
creating a Medicine
Wagon just because
he wanted to. Our
town of 373 already
had a Western
Reenactment group,
the Medicine Park
Marauders, a
Melodrama, Perils
in the Park so
it was only natural
we put together a
Medicine Show. After
reading several
books on historic
medicine show my
husband and I took
actual scripts and
modified to fit
modern day. We now
have dozen (give or
take) regular
performers. Our
biggest shows are in
our Wagon Camp which
are set up twice a
year but we have
done small shows on
our Main Street. We
don't have an
official name
however we sell
"Buffalo Elixir" so
I refer to it as the
Buffalo Elixir
Medicine Show.
