  • Circus Figure, Dies

  • Winchester, Ind.  (Spl.)-Funeral services will be held here at 2 p. m. Friday for Joseph H. Huston, 88 years old, pioneer Indiana circus organizer.

     

    Mr. Huston, a native of Anderson and former Winchester resident, died Friday in California.

     

    He helped organize the Gentry Dog and Pony Show and in 1902, with Hugo Floto, formed the Floto Circus.

     

    Later he operated animal shows in the southwest and in Mexico and owned a chimpanzee that starred in several Tarzan movies.

     

    The body will be brought to the Thornburg Funeral Home in Winchester for the services.


    Mr. Huston is survived by two daughters.
