Karn Family

Midway Sideshows of the early 1900s, before shows of this nature were deemed politically incorrect, included “fat people.” Handwriting on the back of this postcard identifies these six people as the “Karn Family - a group in show business at the Iowa State Fair in 1910.” Their names and weight were listed: Father 612, Mother 565, Sister 385, Jack 444, Jill 461, and James 481.
