It is said "Marie O'Day was a stripper where she entertained in a night club sometime in 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

She was stabbed and her throat cut by her common law husband. Afterward he through her body into the Great Salt Lake, where it remained floating for 12 years. It was found when it washed ashore near a pavilion along the beach of the Great Salt Lake.

 

 The Legend go on to say she was still intact from the red hair on her head to the corn on her toe. She had become mummified due to the great salt deposits absorbed from the Great Salt Lake."
