Mortimer made one hell of a pickpocket. He would perform all kinds of slight-of-hand card tricks and disappearing coin games, engrossing his quarry until they were picked clean by his secret second set of hands. Once discovered, people kept a healthy distance from the extra sticky digits. Ely was an alley elf that lived on trash-scrounged food and stolen liquor. His small stature allowed him quick escapes from hobos and store clerks, but not always from the rats who shared his quarters. Mortimer and Ely’s partnership came naturally. Their odd physical quirks coupled with creative snake oil scamming abilities, made theirs a truly symbiotic petty criminal relationship.
