1938 Litchfield's - Model Circus

Lyman Litchfield 18 year-old Rock Island, Ill. youth is shown above with a model of a circus, on which he has spent his after-school hours of the last five years, constructing.  The "Big Top" is six feet long and three feet wide, and Lyman claims the hardest parts to make were the tiny folding chairs for the inside of the tent.  The outfit includes 17 wagons, 13 parade floats, 30 performers, 21 pieces of aerial equipment, five tents, 20 flags and 25 animals.
