Retro Roadside Attraction; it's "1000 Animals!!!" Once located beside the old bridge at Ausable Chasm, this place operated under several names over the years, beginning back in the 1920s as the Alaskan Silver Fox and Game Farm. Eventually the business expanded to include a location in Lake Placid and was called "St. Nick's Animals." The attraction included llamas, mountain goats, monkeys, minks, foxes, deer, bears, and a petting zoo as well. Shown here in the 1950s, St. Nick's Animals went out of business sometime in the 1970's and the buildings were later demolished.

scattered foundations are all that remain today.
