This 1930's California backend show generated a lot of heat on a midway. Not because of all the provocative nude ladies found lounging around inside the tent...there were none. What the gullible patrons of this show saw for their dime were statues and paintings of nudes, many covered by sprigs of discretely placed artificial shrubbery.

If the local law objected, the operator argued that it was all just legitimate "art", a cultural exhibit, replicas of famous statues and paintings found in museums and art galleries throughout the world and meant to educate and enlighten the public.
